Mario Tokyo

Mario Tokyo is a small but cosy Korean-owned Italian joint that I frequent every few weeks or so at Strathfield.

The menu covers all types of red and white pastas, as well as pizzas in the most creative topping you can think of (bulgogi, potato wedges pizza?)! In addition, they have dishes such as steak and calamari...etc.

The Couple Set ($33.50 ish) covers a choice of pizza and pasta (or 2 pizzas/2 pastas) plus 2 drinks which is quite a value-worthy package!

There really is only one reason as to why I always return to Mario Tokyo, and the answer is the Prawn & Scallop Pasta. The picture may not say much but honestly, this is my favourite pasta in Sydney. It is creamy to perfection but not too rich or salty and the additions of mushroom, prawn and scallop are freshly cooked. The proportion size is just right: making you crave more as you finish...

The pizza we ordered was Italian Sausage which was just your ordinary thin-based pizza smeared with tomato paste, red capsicums and cheese with cutlets of sausage. The good thing about thin pizzas is, you won't end up feeling really full by the end of the meal. Hence the couple set is perfect for a party of two!

Mario Tokyo is quite a small store yet the atmosphere is so cute! The food comes up reasonably fast and the pastas are just to die for! I shall return in probably two weeks when my prawn and scallop pasta craving hits me, yet again :)
